[ Ah, of course. Will furrows his eyebrows a bit, crouching down to give Jet a thorough patting. ]

Let's go in that order, then.

[ He's hoping the dogs will make this easier. ]

[Shaw nods, pouring them both a glass of water and then turning back to face him, leaning against the counter.]

I'm just gonna play you what Wildthyme said to me, and then we can talk strategies for how you're gonna manage it.

[She already has this comment pulled up on her communicator, and she plays it in full, then switches the playback off.]

Initial thoughts?

[ Will listens, brow creasing a bit as Iris goes into the feelings issue. ]

...okay. So, no more drinking. Except for maybe around you and Malcolm? [ He keeps an eye on her to see what she thinks. ] A program in the Enclosure sounds good, for distractions. I'll test out a number of them when I first change, see what works the best.

Other things...we could talk more about my feelings?

[ He's pretty sure that's not going to be an appealing option for Shaw. ]

Maybe have a plan to contact you if I feel like things are getting out of control?

[Shaw nods along with all these ideas without concern or complaint. Getting into the weeds about feelings is never easy for her, but if it's necessary, she'll do it.

The last one does make her pause, though.]

[ Will opens his mouth, and then reconsiders his answer. He bites his lip as he turns it over in his mind. ]

Uh...depends on what it is that's got me upset, I think. So no, not always. I'm trying to think of what else would work, other than having people keep an eye on me...

We don't have to figure everything out right now, I just wanna start thinking about it. And anyway, I'm going to be on your ass way more than I am now.

[empathicfault]

[ Will raises his eyebrows. ]

...ah, maybe that's good, while I'm adjusting. I'm not sure how it's going to hit me, after all. Especially if 'old rages' come back up. At least the subject of those isn't here for me to focus on.

[Drily, she says:]

[There's a brief pause, and then she adds:]

I'm going to want a lot of personal experience with what this looks like on you, so it's not just about making sure you don't lose control, and asking other people to supervise isn't gonna cut it. So yeah, you're gonna get really sick of me.

[ Jet's finally had enough pets from him and pulls away. Will's eyes close, briefly, taking in the new information. ]

All right. I imagine Iris can let you know if anything's happening that's out of the normal behavior patterns for werewolves. Or if it seems like I'm leaning in a dangerous direction, too. She knows me pretty well.

Sure, yeah, that'll be good. But you get why I also want to see for myself, right?

Oh...right, of course. I was more...brainstorming. Trying to find other tools that could help you.

But yes, you need to have more info on this than anyone else. You know more about me than almost anyone here, and you're not biased. You can tell if things are going well, or otherwise.

Yep. Nothing saying you'll be perfectly objective, either. Then again, we're talking about me turning into a werewolf, so maybe 'objective' isn't the right word for it.

[ He shrugs. ]

[She quirks a brow at him, half-smiling.]

How about "completely unbelievable"?

We can go with that.

[ He smirks. ]

Of course, that's at least half the things on this ship. Some of it, we've just gotten used to.

[She means it as a quip, but, well. Shaw is an adaptable person, but even she has her limits, and the Barge has found several of them.]

I did say 'some of it.' [ He has to admit. ]

I don't think I'd be adapting so well if it weren't for Harkin. But I wanted to know and understand his lives...support him the best I can. His entire existence is in the fantastical, so... [ He shrugs again. ] I'm working on it.

Maybe that's why this wolf thing coming up...it doesn't shake me so much. Between Harkin and Malcolm, it'd been on my mind already.

You know, I'm kind of surprised Sweeney's not one already?

[empathicfault]

[ Will shakes his head, suddenly frowning a little. ]

He can't. Not with being Fae already. It's...too bad. He'd make a great wolf.

[cactusy]

Seriously? That's... weird; why can't he be both?

[empathicfault]

I don't know. Maybe it's like oil and water- the two types of magic don't mix well.

All I know is that he's sure about it not working, and that he really would've liked it to.

That sucks.

[Which feels like an understatement.]

[empathicfault]

Yep. Seems like he always gets the short end of the stick.

[ Which is a feeling Will understands- but it's been at least somewhat different since he came here. At least Harkin isn't literally Unlucky while he's here, but it sort of feels like it, sometimes. ]

He's got Garcia, though, yeah? And you, and, uh-- I assume he has other friends.

[empathicfault]

Oh, yeah. It's not the having that's tough for him, it's the losing. He's always here while people graduate, get their deals, get pulled away...and that's not going into the Breaches...

And a few wardens have really failed him in that time, too. It all builds up.
