Hannibal Lecter: serial killer he worked on catching. Jack Crawford: crappy boss who worked him to the bone to his detriment.
Don't let him get away with brushing off the Hannibal thing, they knew each other pretty well and it seems like there's a lot of codependent weirdness there. Could be a simple case of being Stockholm Syndrome-d, but my gut says it's a lot more complicated than that.
It is a lot more complicated than that. There was actual brainwashing and a conflation of values and a genuine understanding that’s hard to brush off, even when it comes with what you know is a heavy dose of manipulation.
Like the other guy said, it's complicated. Both, basically.
I don't think there's a high risk of him falling victim to it again here. He's not a weak-minded or easily led person. It was a weird and unusual combination of factors. Probably still something somebody should be aware of if he spends time talking with their violent and charismatic inmate, though.

Graham responded poorly, but he was also acting out of ongoing frustration and desperation. Avalon's stalking has gone on for months, and they have also threatened and harmed others during that time. Graham's potential for extreme violent responses to threats is high, something that is being handled, but he isn't currently at risk of instigating issues or lashing out without provocation.

Circa May of Graham's first year onboard, approximately 2 months after his arrival.
