Hello, my name is Anduin Wrynn. We haven't spoken before, but I'd like to talk to you about the idea of helping people prepare for life post-graduation.
I saw you offered a sign-up sheet at the counselling office. Have you had much interest? I wondered if something more formal might help, for people who are uncertain where their interests or skills may be of use.
Good to meet you, Anduin. It's a relief to hear someone's interested in this. I've had a few people sign up to offer instruction, but we've also only had a few people show any interest.
That's not much of a surprise, considering the recent Breach and flood were rough on a lot of people. There's a lot of focusing on their current situation, rather than looking to the future. It's the sort of thing that runs in cycles around here.
I set up what I did rather informally, because I've seen at least a couple of attempts to formalize support systems fall apart. But I'm not against giving it a try. Are you thinking of something less like a therapist and more like an advisor role?
I thought perhaps, a day where people might try jobs. Someone who currently works in the kitchen letting new people try cooking, someone versed in medicine talking about how training works in their world and letting people try things (safely!). We'd need some volunteers to help us, but I'd like to think I'm reasonably persuasive.
