Will wasn't expecting this, but he wasn't completely surprised by it, either. After all, John had offered to share messages telepathically. Other people who could talk that way would be able to do so.

He doesn't notice until the words begin, but he'd been bristling for a short while at seemingly nothing. This explained it. Once identified, Will's defensiveness eases down. Funny how Avalon's become someone he trusts, lately.

::I think he does. Either he needs the living souls to provide a battery, or...I'm not sure. Maybe we're a bartering chip? Whatever it is, I can't imagine it'd be good.::

He sighs. ::I missed the other ships, too, but I came in shortly after them. I heard some terrible stories, and I think people were still hurting from it. This is- it's not as structured. It's not structured at all. It's clawing, desperate, but trying not to be::

::I heard that no one graduates or gets deals here, but not much else. If they have difficulty with supplies and no goal to work towards, then why stay?::

They lay back in their hammock, staring up at the ceiling. ::What feels desperate? The people here, or the ship itself?:: They can sense most people here, but have yet to try to reach out to anyone directly. Some people are perceivable but unreachable, and some feel completely nonexistent, just like people on the Barge.
