[ It takes a couple moments for Will's end to click on. Once it does, there's the sound of distant gunshots and screeching. He had the misfortune of being on the Deck when the bats and vines started to appear.

Will's voice, when he speaks, is low and close. ]

Not particularly. But I'm not hurt. Where are you?

Level 8; I'm getting there as fast as I can, but, uh-- it might take a while.

Okay. I'm trying to get off the Deck. Was going to see if I could meet up at Malcolm's cabin on 3. How's Level 8 looking?

As bad as the deck sounds. Malcolm doing okay?

He's all right. He was in the library- it's not safe, either. Gotta give him a key to my cabin when this is over.

Damn- [ There's some muffled shuffling noises as the microphone is brushed against. ] You know what this is yet? Kinda early for a flood.

I don't know what else it would be. Smuggled creatures from the port that just got out?

I didn't see anything like this.

Guess it doesn't matter. Just got to survive it, for now.

I should make you give me a key to your cabin after this too, you know.

Sure. Kind of surprised you don't have access already.

Kinda figured the Admiral would say no if I asked it.

[ One of the screeches gets louder and it's followed by a sudden crack of a gun being fired and the pounding of footsteps. ]

I guess a key works just as well. I've got a couple extra.
